When the Tampa Bay Lightning re-signed defenceman Andrej Sustr to a one-year, $1.95 million contract extension on Monday, it didn’t send shockwaves across the hockey universe, but was simply a solid signing for the team.
The blueliner has scored eight goals and 48 assists in 274 career games, helping the Lightning reach the Stanley Cup Final in 2015.
As mentioned above, Sustr doesn’t score goals extremely often, but when he does, the crowd is pleasantly pleased by the early 2000s pop jam that blasts over the arena.
When Sustr scores, Britney Spears ‘Oops!... I Did It Again’ blares over the loudspeaker, and the defenceman celebrated his re-signing on Twitter with a funny GIF from the Spears music video.
This goal song consistently gives us a great laugh every time we hear it. Kudos to Sustr for totally owning his goal song, and having a great sense of humour.
