It’s been a rough final stretch of the NBA offseason for Isaiah Thomas.
The point-guard was recently acquired by the Cleveland Cavaliers in a package deal for the superior Kyrie Irving, and to make matters worse, the trade almost didn’t go through due to Thomas’ bad hip. Reports have suggested that the injury may cause the 5’9 star to miss up to half of next season.
Despite all of the adversity, Thomas has shown support for his new team. One lucky fan was fortunate to come across Thomas in a Cleveland hoodie, and the Tacoma, Washington native agreed to take a picture. Overwhelmed with joy, the fan sent the photo to his mother and then received an unthinkable response. Take a look at their conversation.
Ouch.
Perhaps the mother made an honest mistake, or maybe she’s just salty about the whole trade. Who knows? It’s tough to blame the parent though, considering her son is the taller individual in the picture.
Sure, Thomas can take the conversation as an accidental insult, but the fact that he has played at an all-star level at a relatively normal height speaks volumes about the athlete he is. Hopefully he’ll have a good laugh when/if he sees this.
