Patrick Mahomes is unquestionably one of the most exciting young players in the NFL. Going into last season, fans didn’t realize they would be treated to what ended up being an MVP-calibre season, and he’s reignited the passion for football in Kansas City.
Unfortuantely, Mahomes has been hampered in 2019 so far. The young star still flexes big-play ability, and he still looks like one of the more electrifying passers in the league, but an ankle injury has certainly slowed him down to a certain extent.
Coming off two loses in a row, one church in Kansas is hoping to help his cause. They’re doing so by way of a prayer service solely dedicated to healing Mahomes’ ankle.
Gotta do what you gotta do, but there is one issue with the idea. Kansas doesn’t play of Sunday, they drew the Thursday Night Football game against the Denver Broncos tonight.
According to FOX4KC, the church has also offered to pray for other NFL teams or injuries upon request, but thus far they have not received any.
Hopefully Mahomes’ ankle holds up long enough for the prayer service to happen, otherwise it may be a much longer service than planned.
