NHL video games are more advanced than ever but anyone born before the new millennium can agree that they lack that vintage feel.
There have been certain features in past NHL games that have stood out throughout history but their time in the video game series was short-lived. So, since we know you're all craving original hockey content and have been gaming a ton of 'Chel while the season has been on pause, let's take a look back at some of these old features that need to make a comeback.
BIG HEAD MODE
Big head mode dates all the way back to NHL 99 and was just awesome. It made a recent return in NHL 09's 3 on 3 arcade mode but hasn't been included since. Bring it back EA, it was too much fun playing with those things!
BREAKAWAY CAM
The breakaway cam was introduced in NHL 2002. Everything would essentially freeze and from that point on it was just you against the goaltender. Has there ever been a more intense feature in an NHL game before? It needs to make a comeback.
HERO LINE
Speaking of NHL 02... remember when you could throw on a 'hero line'? All of your best players working together in the clutch to tie or win the game in the dying seconds? Why not throw this back in? Wouldn't you want your best players on at the same time regardless?!
SYMBOLS UNDER PLAYERS
Ah, the good ole' days. When you knew exactly what a player was capable of doing based on the little item under his name. There was the hammer for hitting, stick for a hard shot and bulls-eye for accuracy. Let's infuse some old back into the new games and add a bit of an arcade feel to 'Chel 21!

NHL 94 CELLIES
The celebrations in those games were unreal. At least give an option for players to bring back the ones from the earliest games.
