Everyone across the United States celebrated the 4th of July on Wednesday and there was plenty of baseball games being played across the country in honour of the holiday.
Over in the Pacific Coast League, the Memphis Redbirds and the Omaha Storm Chasers went head-to-head in Triple-A action and they had a very special guest in attendance to throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
The Redbirds had 104-year-old World War II veteran Frank Anderson throw out the opening pitch and he made sure to bring the heat.
Anderson wasn’t the only WWII veteran to throw a ceremonial first pitch on Wednesday afternoon as the Milwaukee Brewers brought out 95-year-old World War II Navy pilot Chuck Franzke for their ceremonial first pitch.
