The start of Game 3 for the Washington Capitals couldn't have been better.
The top line of Nicklas Backstrom, T.J. Oshie and Alex Ovechkin produced two goals in the first five minutes of the game as Washington went up 2-0 right out of the gate.
From that point on, though, Toronto woke up and took it to the Caps, eventually tying the game at 3-3 and winning it in overtime to take a 2-1 series lead.
Part of the problem for the Capitals was penalties, especially in the third period, and that was a contributing factor to Ovechkin's ice time, which you might not believe when you see:
As Isabelle clarified, it wasn't his career playoff low, but it was darn close.
Because Ovi doesn't play the penalty kill, he wasn't a factor in the third period, but still, just over 15 minutes of ice time in Game 3 of a 1-1 series for the greatest goal scorer in hockey seems a little low.
Capitals fans shouldn't worry as we imagine there's no way Ovi will play anywhere close to that number of minutes in Game 4.
If Washington is going to even up the series again, they need 'The Great 8' on the ice as much as possible.
