Munenori Kawasaki is well-known for his antics around a baseball diamond.
He was a fan favourite in Toronto for his upbeat attitude and goofy interviews, and much of that has continued in Chicago where he has had a couple chances to contribute. He is with the Cubs again this Spring and it appears he is really learning a lot from Cubs’ manager Joe Maddon – Fashion-wise at least.
Kawasaki added glasses to his repertoire last season, but this year he’s updated them to a Wayfarer style like Maddon or Buddy Holly (forgive our terrible title).
Of course, the new style didn’t get past Maddon either. He told the Chicago Sun this about Kawasaki’s game this Spring Training:
“I think a big part of his success is the new glasses he’s wearing,” the manager said of the Maddon-like frames Kawasaki showed up wearing in the clubhouse this spring. “Yeah, he looks like me a little bit right now. So I think that’s part of it.”
Both Kawasaki and Maddon have pretty similar out-going personalities, so it’s no surprise they have a similar sense in fashion.
