The summer of Stanley is quickly coming to an end, and almost every player on the Pittsburgh Penguins’ roster has had his day with the cup. The Stanley Cup has spent the past two summers with the Pens, going to parties, having breakfast with players’ kids, going for spaghetti dinners, and even being the display case for some hot dogs on the golf course.
Well, we can confidently say the Stanley Cup did something Wednesday it hasn’t yet done in the past two years with the Penguins; the cup helped baptize a baby.
On Wednesday afternoon, Penguins’ right-winger Josh Archibald had his son, Brecken, baptized in the Stanley Cup. And thanks to the Keeper of the Cup, we’ve got pictures of the ceremony.
Earlier in the summer, Archibald signed a two-year deal with Pittsburgh, and celebrated by posting images of his wife and baby on the way. Well, the baby is here, and got baptized out of the Stanley Cup! Amazing.
