If you don’t already know, Tom Brady is pretty good at throwing the football. He is also going to be gracing this year's edition of EA Sports: Madden 18.
In the past, many athletes have had their names called by EA to reach the cover, and then had something terrible happen to them the following season. From injury, poor seasons, and other unfortunate circumstances, this is known as the Madden Curse.

Seattle Seahawks - Madden 15 (Superbowl interception)
Troy Polamalu - Madden 10 (Injury)
Peyton Hillis - Madden 12 (587 rushing yards)
Vince Young - Madden 08 (17 INTs)
Shaun Alexander - Madden 07 (Injury)
Donovan McNabb - Madden 06 (Injury)
Michael Vick - Madden 04 (Injury)
Tom Brady is next in line to see if he can avoid the curse, although he doesn’t seem too worried:
