When heartbreaking and gruesome injuries occur in sports, the game doesn't matter because the players come together to support the injured player.
On Tuesday night, players from both the Cavaliers and Celtics, and players watching the opening game of the NBA season from across the sports world came together to show their support for the injured Gordon Hayward who suffered a fractured left ankle less than six minutes into his Celtics debut.
As much as players on different teams are opponents, they're also brothers and LeBron James perfectly displayed that fact twice. Not only did LeBron give Hayward some words of encouragement, but he also went into the Cavs' locker room where Hayward was getting medical attention at some point after he was taken off the court on a stretcher. Cavs point guard Isaiah Thomas, who is currently injured, also went into the Cavs' locker room to see Hayward. We hate seeing injuries like this, but we love seeing how athletes and fans from across the sports world come together to support one another. Get well soon Gordon! (H/T: Brian Windhorst)
