The NBA MVP race is heating up as the season's end quickly approaches, and the two candidates everyone is talking about are Russell Westbrook and James Harden.

The former teammates are the NBA's triple-double kings with Westbrook leaving the forefront as he's averaging a triple-double this season.

What Harden lacks in triple-doubles, though, he more than makes up for with record as his team is third in the West compared to the Russell's sixth place Thunder.

The reigning two-time MVP, Stephen Curry, recently weighed on the MVP debate and said Harden his most valuable player this season.

Ahead of the Raptors and Thunder game in Toronto Thursday, Westbrook was asked about Curry's comments and his response was the most Russell Westbrook response imaginable.

Who he is the two-time reigning MVP, but that's just Russ being Russ.  He doesn't care what anyone else thinks, nor should he.

Westbrook is having one of the most historic seasons in NBA history, and he's doing it without Durant.  More importantly, though, he's helped the Thunder stay afloat rather than sink, which many thought they would.

The only thing working against Westbrook, however, is the fact that Harden's led his team to a better record as the MVP is usually a member of one of the NBA's best teams.
