The life of an NHL referee isn't glamorous.
Aside from being on the road all of the time, officials get hit with pucks, sticks, skates, and sometimes fists. They also have to deal with the thousands of referees sitting in the stands booing every call and coaches and players arguing said calls.
Having to deal with all of those things isn't fun or easy, and sometimes officials snap in response, which was the case Tuesday night.
After Viktor Stalberg was called for a penalty that he thought was questionable, he banged his stick on the glass in the box. Then, out of nowhere, Gord Dwyer showed up and gave Stalberg an earful in a hilarious exchange to say the least.
We're not sure what's better, Dwyer doing his best Randy Orton "out of nowhere" impression or the captions some people had for the video.
Like every other player in the history of hockey who's tried to argue a penalty call, it didn't work, and really Stalberg had no argument considering he broke the stick of a Pens' player with a slash.
Pittsburgh would add insult to injury by scoring on the 5-on-3 advantage and winning the game 3-1.
