The first round of the 2017 NFL Draft went down on Thursday night in Philadelphia and it was a memorable night for a lot of young men.
With the 12th pick in the draft, the Houston Texans selected Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson.
Following the selection, Watson did some stuff with the media backstage. While he was sitting down with the NFL, he was given a hand-written note from his mother that she wrote for him to read after he got drafted.
When Watson was younger, he spent the first decade of his life living in public housing, until his mother was approved for a Habitat for Humanity house. After receiving their new home, Watson and his family got some help from NFL running back Warrick Dunn, who furnished the enitre house for them and provided them with the possessions they needed through his foundation.
It really doesn’t get much better than this. As cool as it was to get drafted, this probably took over as the greatest moment in his life.
Sorry for not giving you a heads up to get some tissues ready before pressing play.
