When Wayne Simmonds scored his third goal of the hockey game on February 28th against the Colorado Avalanche, hats littered the ice in celebration. As every hockey fan surely knows, when a home player nets a hatty, it is customary to take the lid off your noggin and toss it down onto the ice.

But on February 28th, it turns out Simmonds hadn't scored a hat trick after all, and Jakub Voracek had stolen the goal on the play. Of course, the two play on the same team so it's no big deal, but a plethora of Philadelphia Flyers' fans had lost perfectly good hats for no reason at all.

Voracek being the good guy that he is decided to purchase 396 Flyers' hats (the number of hats thrown on the ice that night) from the teams online store, and donate them to patients at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, and Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Voracek posed with the hats before they shipped off to the children:

Kudos to Voracek on the awesome act of kindness.
