Vince Carter will join a very short list next season when he suits up for the 2017-18 NBA season.

Next year, the 40-year-old will join Robert Parish, Kevin Willis, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Kevin Garnett and Kobe Bryant as the only players in NBA history to play 20 NBA seasons and he’s looking to go out on top.

Last week, Carter joined ESPN’s The Jump and mentioned that he’d be open to taking a pay cut next season if it meant that he’d win his first NBA title.

"I'm open for it. I want to win when I play," Carter acknowledged. "I want to do, somewhat, what Kevin Durant did. I want to do for my team. I want to go out there and play and provide and show that I can still play this game."

Carter is no longer the $15 million per year player that he used to be, but he has proven on numerous occasions that he can still get the job done at the highest level.

The lowest Carter ever made in a single season was $2.4 million which he made with the Dallas Mavericks back in 2011-12, and is coming off a year where he made $4.26 million.

The Warriors have a lot of players with expired contracts this offseason, so Carter might take that pay cut to end up in the Bay Area in hopes of capturing his first NBA title.
