The first matchup in the Monday night double-header featured the Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints, two teams who are looking to reverse their misfortunates of missing out on the playoffs last season.
During the second quarter of the game, Vikings receiver Stefon Diggs, wearing a special set of Randy Moss-inspired custom set of cleats, snagged a touchdown pass from Sam Bradford on play action.
As good as his ability to find an island of his own in the endzone, Diggs' celebration was even better. With Moss in attendance, Diggs paid homage to the Vikings 2nd all-time yards and touchdown receiver Randy Moss.
Moss was inducted into the Vikings’ Ring of Honour prior to the game, and got the crowd fired up by initiating the Vikings' SKOL chant by blowing into the customized blown horn.
Later on in the second quarter with just three seconds left before half on third and goal, Bradford tossed one up to Diggs, who pulled in his second touchdown of the game by making a spectacular catch in coverage, once again channeling his inner Randy Moss and “Mossing” over Saints' De’Vante Harris.
