History was made in the CFL tonight after Mike Reilly and Vidal Hazelton connected for the longest play of the quarterback’s career. With little under 12 minutes remaining in the second quarter, Reilly found Hazelton streaking near mid-field, and the receiver did the rest of the work from there. When it appeared he was going to be dragged down in the red zone, Hazelton dished a nasty stiff-arm to Lions defensive back Chandler Fenner.
With the play, Reilly amassed 248 yards in just a bit more than one quarter. The touchdown led to a combined 25.12 points in TSN's CFL Fantasy Football, so if you started the tandem in your lineup you’re having a good laugh right about now.
The Eskimos and Lions sit at the top of the Western Division, so it’s no surprise that the game has featured highlight reel plays like this one. Heading into the games, the BC sat at 4-1 while Edmonton stood undefeated at 4-0.
Time will tell if their streak is snapped, but at least they'll have the incredible TD to reflect on after the game.
