Alex Ovechkin, T.J. Oshie, Evgeny Kuznetsov, and Nicklas Backstrom are all very capable skaters for the Washington Capitals, but could they be training new reinforcement (who are already on the roster) for the upcoming season?
It appears as though Caps’ goaltender Braden Holtby is giving the forward position a try, skating with the team and taking shots on the other goalies Monday.
During the offseason some players relax, some hit the gym hard, some do positional drills… and some do other position’s positional drills.
We understand this is simply Holtby keeping involved and in shape with the team when he’s not in the net, but wouldn’t it be cool to see him come out of the net for a game next year? Just to see how it would go. Let’s make it happen, Capitals! Holtby at forward!
