With the 10th overall pick in the 2017 NHL Draft, the Florida Panthers selected Owen Tippett of the Mississauga Steelheads, and he was almost immediately the butt of a Roberto Luongo Twitter joke.
On Tuesday, Tippett took to the ice for the first time as a Panther with other top young prospects for the team’s annual development camp. After hitting the ice, Tippett touched on another Panthers’ veteran, Jaromir Jagr, during a scrum. Tippett was asked about the possibility of playing with Jagr, and had a pretty funny response.
When Tippett was born, Jagr had already played a few NHL games…
We assume Jagr gets this from a lot of the young guys he’s playing with these days, but we imagine he gets a good laugh every time he hears it.
Believe it or not, Jagr is just 56 games away from having played the most NHL games ever.
