Thomas Chabot showed the world exactly what he’s made during the 2017 IIHF World Junior Ice Hockey Championship.
The Senators prospect finished with the most points by defencemen in the tournament, and finished tied for fourth in points in the entire tournament.
The 20-year-old spent this past season playing in the QMJHL with the Saint John Sea Dogs and finished with 10 goals and 45 points in 34 regular season. The Sea Dogs are still in action, as they’re currently playing the Chicoutimi Saguenéens in the President Cup semifinals.
On Friday, Saint John took a 3-2 series lead thanks to a 4-0 victory on home ice. In the victory, Chabot put his talent on display for everyone in attendance as he went end-to-end to score a goal.

Once Chabot took off from behind the net he was pretty much untouchable and unstoppable as he blew by everyone on the ice. He had so much speed going that he was able to pick up his own rebound, circle back around, and fire a shot past the goalie.
The goal was Chabot’s fourth of the postseason and currently ranks tied for second on the team in postseason points with 16.
