Everybody loves to give their goalie props after a big save, but there’s a time and a place. That place is not while the goalie is standing on the goal line, with the ball in his hands.
Earlier this week, in a Turkish second-tier soccer game, Gaziantep Belediyespor had a penalty coming against them. No worries, the goalie makes the save, but that’s where things went downhill. You can see where this is going, so we’ll just give it to you straight: He runs into the goalie while trying to celebrate, which jars the ball loose and drops it into the net.
This might rank among the top own goals in history if there was a little more at stake. We still have to say this one is one of the worst all-time.
