Losing your favourite sports team will do strange things to a sports fan.
Monday, new broke that the Raiders would be leaving Oakland for Las Vegas in 2019 after NFL owners voted 31-1 in favour of the move. The fact that the Raiders won't actually be leaving the Bay Area until 2019 puts fans in Oakland in a pretty difficult situation. Do you keep cheering for the team you've always loved knowing that soon they will pack up and move out of town? Or do you just go ahead and speed up the break up and dump them now? This guy in a gorilla mask may have the answer to that question.
It takes courage to go on national television and give a straight faced (we imagine he wasn't smiling) interview while wearing a gorilla mask. But it takes even more courage to wear that mask then make these sounds.
That was most certainly a cry for help. Just to get an even clearer picture of the dilemma that Raiders fans have been faced with, just listen to the tone in the voice of ESPN's Sam Alipour.
The 2017 NFL season is going to be a weird one in Oakland.
