The San Jose Sharks’ 5-1 win over the Buffalo Sabres last night featured a ton of action, but the most memorable moment happened off the ice. Well, kind of.

The game was basically over before it started, as San Jose scored two goals within the first five minutes. Things got interesting though on the fourth goal of the game, when Joe Pavelski put one in tight. Everyone in the SAP Center was going nuts, including newly acquired defenceman Erik Karlsson, but the only problem was that no one was giving the blue-liner any love on the bench. Brace yourself, because this might be the most cringe thing you'll see all season.

Oh man… just awkward.

It’s not like EK has been the only one to get snubbed by his teammates. Just recently, Washington Capitals owner Ted Leonsis took centre ice coming off of the organization’s Stanley Cup win and gave what may have been the worst high five in NHL history.

Worst high-five attempt of all time? 😂😂

We’ve all been left hanging at some point or another, but not all of us have been captured on a television broadcast while doing it. At least the Sharks now know how excited their star defenceman can get on the bench.
