"Good morning, good afternoon and goodnight Minnesota!!!"
The best play-by-play announcers always seem to find the perfect words to summarize a critical moment in a game. In fact, some calls are so memorable, that they inevitably eclipse the actual play itself in popularity in the annals of sports history. Saturday, the announcer delivering the radio call for the Boston University women's hockey team's 6-5 win over Minnesota in overtime delivered a beauty of a line. But it wasn't just what he said, it was how he said it.
Listening to that call was the equivalent of drinking a case of six-hour energy drinks and shotgunning a four-pack of Red Bulls. You just can't help but get amped by the guy's energy. This is going right up there with "MAY-DAY, MAY-DAY!"
Was it over the top? Absolutely. But will more people be sharing the footage of this overtime winning goal as a result of the radio call? You better believe it!
