Life ain’t easy being a Cleveland Browns fan.
The team is 0-4 to start the season resulting in the club occupying the basement of the AFC North. For years now, the Browns have been at the receiving end of most football and sports jokes. The team can’t for the life of them shake their futile aura that follows them around mercilessly.
You often hear the term “dumpster fire” loosely thrown around whenever a team is in shambles. It can be inept management, or on-field performance, and far too often is that phrase is attached to the Browns. The term has made it’s way into the GIF world, and one of the more popular ones you see on Twitter.
On Tuesday afternoon, a dumpster literally caught on fire outside the Browns stadium, and it’s not the first time the city of Cleveland has witnessed one.
How appropriate. Usually, the dumpster fire occurs inside the stadium somewhere on the field.
The Browns, however, might have their best chance at a win all season when they host the New York Jets on Sunday, who are somehow 2-2.
The metaphorical accuracy is real.
