During the Cleveland Indians versus Cincinnati Reds spring training game in Arizona on Saturday, the game was delayed for a short period of time. No, the rain didn't begin pouring down on the ballpark... but it did get incredibly wet on the field out of nowhere.
The sprinkler system unexpectedly went off in the bottom of the eighth inning while the players were on the field. It's so early in spring training, we assume the grounds crew forgot to turn the automatic timer off on the first game day back.
The grounds crew worked impressively quickly getting the sprinkler shut down. Bravo, ladies and gentlemen of the grounds crew.
