The NHL has been doing an amazing job at honouring their past in the league’s 100th year in history.

They have dedicated an entire portion of their site to recognizing the players of the past (NHL.com/100) and have been taking an artistic angle at their reminiscence. They have looked at the top all-time uniforms, the original six programs and even the best goalie masks. Now, as a part of their ranking of the top 100 players of all-time, they have released two of what will be a collection of 100 paints – one for each player.

The first two are Ted Lindsay and Dave Keon, and they turned out amazing.

They are not going in order for the paintings, because although the NHL hasn’t given them specific numbers, Keon is placed as the 80th skater on the list and Ten Lindsay as the 78th.

They have also announced next week’s paintings already, which will be the recently deceased Bruins’ legend, Milt Schmidt, and the Montreal Canadiens’ Henri Richard.

We’re excited to see next week, because it will give us a good idea if they’ll be doing a different theme for every player or if they’ll all follow the same format. We hope they include some fun paintings too, because we would love to see some NHL legends in a pose like Connor McDavid in this epic painting someone brought to him last year.
