Canada lost an icon on Tuesday night as Canadian music legend Gord Downie passed away after a battle with terminal brain cancer.
Considering the massive impact he made on the sports world over his career, athletes from across North America mourned the passing of The Tragically Hip’s lead singer.
With the Toronto Maple Leafs at home against the Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday night, the team took some time before the game to honour Downie.
Thank you for everything, Gord. You will be missed.
