We may know the real reason that the Predators lost Game 4 on Thursday night...the lead singer of Kings of Leon fumbled the team's now customary pre-game beer chug.
This past Tuesday, the Predators welcomed Marcus Mariota and a number of offensive lineman from the Tennessee Titans to be the fans of honour for Game 3. The move led to a memorable beer chug amongst the Titans teammates, as well as a 2-1 Preds win. Thursday rock group, Kings of Leon, showed up in Smashville to represent their hometown before Game 4. However, lead singer Caleb Followill's beer chug didn't go as planned, and subsequently, neither did the game for the Preds.
It may seem like we're scapegoating the Kings of Leon, but honestly, the connection between a successful beer chug and a win just seems to strong to ignore. When the series shifts back to Nashville, the Preds should be mindful of that, and make sure to get an experienced chugger to play the role of fan of honour.
