Earlier this summer, the first overall pick from the 2015 draft, Connor McDavid, signed a huge deal.
Tuesday night, a little under 24 hours before the start of the 2017-18 regular season, the second overall pick from the 2015 draft class got paid, too.
Jack Eichel isn't going anywhere for a long time Sabres fans. The 20-year-old agreed to an 8-year deal with the team that drafted him and will sign it on Wednesday.
In terms of money, Eichel will now be in the upper echelon with the likes of McDavid, Carey Price, Patrick Kane, and Jonathan Toews once the deal kicks in next season.
Once the deal was announced, the internet weighed in with some priceless reactions.
Eichel and the Sabres open their season against the Habs on Thursday at home.
