The Houston Astros made history on Wednesday night when they defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-1 in Game 7 of the World Series to capture their first title in franchise history.
The entire city of Houston came together on Friday afternoon to celebrate the historic accomplishment and it looked like a good majority of Houston residents took the day off to take part in the celebration.
Before the parade got underway, the Astros received a special delivery at their head office courtesy of the Chicago Cubs, who wanted to make sure the team celebrated their title on a full stomach.
The Cubs contacted Rita and Fuzzy of Fuzzy’s Pizza, a local pizza joint in Houston, and had them deliver 60 pizzas to the Houston Astros before the parade.
The San Francisco Giants sent the Kansas City Royals pizzas when they won the World Series, and the Royals followed that up by doing the same for the Chicago Cubs last year.
This is definitely one of the better traditions in sports because everyone enjoys free pizza.
