Tragedy can strike at any moment, and Sunday morning the sports world found that out as Yordano Ventura passed away at the age of 25 due to a car accident in the Dominican Republic.

Ventura broke into the majors with the Royals in 2013 and won a World Series with the team.
Former MLBer Andy Marte was also reportedly killed in a unrelated car accident in the Dominican Republic on Sunday as well.
As soon as the news broke, the sports and baseball world sent out their thoughts and prayers to the families of the two players.
