In 1987 George Bell became the first Toronto Blue Jays' player to win the MVP award, but Bell did something else in 1987 that might be even more impressive. Bell and McDonald's made the most 1980s commercial a person may ever see in their life.
Back in the 80s, the Blue Jays helped McDonald's sell Big Macs, and Bell was on top of the baseball world having an MVP calibre season. Therefore, what better player to use in advertisements than MVP candidate George Bell.
Watch the commercial below, which showcases the city of Toronto in a very 80s way, and discusses Bell as a very "together" fellow.
We would also like to point out how a Big Mac meal was 2.99 at McDonald's in 1987... how times have changed.
And Speaking of Toronto team athletes in McDonald's commercials, Mats Sundin once joined Wayne Gretzky for a little shot for shot competition with lunch on the line.
