The Brazil Open wrapped up this past weekend as Pablo Cuevas of Uruguay came away victorious after he defeated Albert Ramos in the final in Sao Paulo on Sunday night.
Cuevas ended up losing the first set, but came back firing over the next two sets. With match point on the line in the third set, Cuevas looked to put his opponent away for good, and did so in the most confident way you can imagine.
The 31-year-old decided to get the rally started with a light underhand serve. If it didn’t end up catching his opponent off guard, he probably would have surrendered a point. But Ramos and the rest of the world was not expecting him to start things off with an unusual underhand serve.
It worked for Cuevas, as he clinched the match point later on in the same rally. We don’t think he’ll be adding that to his regular game plan, despite walking away victorious.
