Team France wrapped up their 2017 IIHF World Championship preliminary round with a 4-1 victory over Slovenia on Monday.
Despite finishing up the round on a high note, Team France failed to advance to the elimination round of the tournament.
With the game winding down to its final seconds, Team France did something classy with 20 seconds remaining in the game as they called a timeout so fans and teammates could show their appreciation for goalie Cristobal Huet.
The 41-year-old Huet played in his final international game with Team France on Monday and went out on a high note.
Aside from making 26 saves and earning a victory, he also got to leave the ice to a standing ovation.
