Jordan Eberle and Taylor Hall were drafted two years apart, but they both ended up joining the Edmonton Oilers for the 2010-11 season and played together for six seasons from 2010-16.

With Hall now a member of the New Jersey Devils and Eberle now a member of the New York Islanders, the two former first round picks are now considered rivals for the first time in their NHL careers.

On Sunday, the Devils winger was taking in the New England Patriots and New York Jets game in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and unexpectedly ended up in a photo with Liev and Pablo Schreiber.

Shortly after Hall shared the photo on Twitter, the first-year Islander decided to have some fun at his former teammate’s expense.

However, Hall wasn’t going to let Eberle get the only chirp in and fired back at his former teammate with a ruthless tweet early Monday morning.

We’re sure it’s all fun and games between the two former Oilers, but we hope Eberle has a good response ready to go.

Hall has one goal and three assists through the Devils’ first give games of the season, while Eberle has just three assists through his first six games as a member of the Islanders.
