The second round of the NHL playoffs officially started Wednesday night as the Blues and Predators squared off in Game 1 of their series.
With the two best goalies so far this postseason going head-to-head, the series figures to be a close and entertaining one.
Unfortunately during Game 1, there was a scary incident that occurred as Kevin Fiala was stretchered off the ice after he was driven hard into the boards.
With Fiala down, Vladimir Tarasenko teamed up with Viktor Arvidsson to bring the stretcher out to him.
That's what sports are all about. As intense as the playoffs are and as much as the two teams battling may dislike each other, there are things much bigger than the game of hockey.
The health of a player is one of those things and it's just incredible to see both teams come together in that moment to make sure Fiala is ok.
Based on how Fiala went into the boards, we imagine the diagnosis might not be great, but nonetheless we hope he's fine and wish him a speedy recovery.
