If there’s one team who knows how to have fun on and off the ice, it’s the Syracuse Crunch.
The Tampa Bay Lightning’s AHL affiliate has found different ways to have fun this season, including some great lip-syncing music videos.
Aside from the fun music videos, they’ve also rocked some pretty awesome jerseys throughout the season for different initiatives.
This Friday, one of the most entertaining teams in hockey will host a Slap Shot Night as a tribute to the 40th anniversary of the film’s release.
The War Memorial Arena in downtown Syracuse was the home of the Hyannisport Presidents and is the place where the police arrested the Hanson Brothers following a brawl in the stands.
To celebrate the 40th anniversary, the team will rock replica Charlestown Chiefs jerseys for the night, and are the first team to ever be given permission from Universal Studios to recreate the sweaters for an actual game.
Aside from the jerseys, the team will be selling original blue and orange War Memorial Arena seats from the filming of the movie in 1977.
This is definitely one of the coolest promotions of the year.
