The Dallas Stars hosted the New York Rangers on Thursday night, and all the talk about the game on Friday has been about Cody Eakin running Henrik Lundqvist behind the net. However, what went unnoticed in the stands at the American Airlines Center on Thursday night were two signs created by Stars fans that were directed at Rick Nash.
This seems like the hockey version of when baseball fans make ridiculous signs about Hunter Pence. Nash got the last laugh, though, as he scored his 12th of the season shorthanded in the third period and it held up to be the game-winning goal on the night. Perhaps these Stars fans will think twice next time they want to take some shots at an opponent.
If you think all the Harambe talk is going to slow down in 2017, think again.
