If you were to look at the Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor fight like a WWE match, it's very clear who the heel is and who the babyface is.
Floyd got mercilessly booed in Los Angeles, Toronto, New York, and London during the press tour for the fight, which makes him the heel in this scenario.
Mayweather's past coupled with his cocky attitude and arrogance makes him very easy to hate, and although McGregor comes off as having those same qualities, fans don't seem to mind because they hate Floyd that much more.
Obviously when you've made as much money as Mayweather has and you've never been beat, it's easy to be that cocky.
Chael Sonnen witnessed Floyd's arrogance up close once and he recently recounted this experience that perfectly showcases why fans hate Mayweather.
Not only does Floyd tell the world he's the greatest, but he proves it every single time he's in the ring, and that's what makes him so easy to hate.
It also makes it easy for fans to root for McGregor who is a massive underdog in this fight that everyone will be watching to see Mayweather lose.
