The Ottawa Senators are in the midst of their deepest playoff run since 2007, and fans are celebrating it in peculiar ways.

If you’ve been keeping up with the action, you’re likely familiar with their polite red light celebrations that they have been conducting after victories.

Inside the arena, some fans have found a new way to display their fandom. In case you forgot, Sens defenceman Marc Methot nearly lost the tip of one of his fingers after enduring a slash from Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby.

Luckily for the blue-liner, his finger fully recovered and he was given the green light to return to the lineup. Considering everything was okay, fans figured they could have some fun with it.

A questionable, but hilarious way of showing support.

The team will return to Ottawa for game 6 regardless of today’s outcome, so don’t be surprised if you spot a few mangled foam fingers in the crowd.
