Tuesday, the world of hockey and baseball collided at two separate ballparks in the MLB, with Sidney Crosby tossing out the first pitch at the Pirates game and Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner getting the honours at the Blue Jays game in Toronto.
The jury is still out on whether or not Crosby's pitch was a strike, but the answer seems pretty clear concerning Marner's toss.
A nice throw that didn't bounce on its way to the plate, but just a little outside. Crosby's pitch definitely had more movement on it as well, as the Penguins captain threw a fairly solid 12-6 curveball, but Marner's pitch looked closer to a strike.
Following his trip to the mound, Marner took some time to relay an important message onto Jays fans, encouraging them to participate in the All-Star Vote which ends later this month on the 29th.
As of this moment the only two Blue Jays who rank in the top 5 at their position in the vote is Josh Donaldson who is currently sitting in 4th with 527,680 votes, and Troy Tulowitzki who is in 5th with 354,732.
