The NHL's new jersey launch was all about the Las Vegas Golden Knights, but that didn't stop the Toronto Maple Leafs from getting roasted.
Toronto born comedian Russell Peters played the role of master of ceremonies Tuesday night in Vegas at the launch, helping to unveil the Golden Knights jersey design on stage at the Wynn Hotel.
Following the official unveiling of the Golden Knights jersey, Peters was handed his very own Maple Leafs jersey on stage. Never one to shy away from a joke, Peters made a gag at the expense of his hometown team before putting his jersey on.
It takes a true fan to be able to laugh at the past misfortunes of their favourite team, but with the way the Leafs young core is developing, perhaps Peters won't be laughing all that much longer.
