Behind every great hockey player is a beauty nickname.

As everyone knows nicknames are not chosen, they are given. Even if a player isn't all that fond of their new nickname, they've got to keep it. That's just the way things work. With that in mind, you want to make sure that you take every small detail into account before gifting someone with a brand new nickname. We took upon ourselves to look at the Team Canada roster and assign some new nicknames to the boys, as it's the least we could do to thank them for representing our country on the world stage. With this being such an important task, we turned to two guys that we could really trust to get the job done and done well...Rielly & Jonesy of the Letterkenny Shamrocks.

Rielly and Jonesy weren't able to compete in this year's World Juniors tournament because they were so busy with the Letterkenny Shamrocks, but that doesn't mean they can't cheer on their home team. They stopped by the BarDown offices to get to know some of Team Canada's best players and to initiate them into the hockey world with official nicknames.

Even without the assistance of Rielly and Jonesy Team Canada has managed just fine at the tournament, reaching the semifinals where they will play Sweden. Both Rielly and Jonesy would have loved to represent the red and white, but they've made it pretty clear that they're quite preoccupied. But in their absence, Team Canada should still make sure to to take their advice and practice their power poses.

Nothing strikes fear into the eyes of opponents quite like a solid power pose. We think Deersy would agree.
