The Major League Baseball season is one of the longest in all of sports, so players are always thinking of ways to make road trips a little more entertaining.
The Boston Red Sox wrapped up a nine-game homestand with a 6-2 victory over the Oakland Athletics on Thursday afternoon. Following the game the team departed for a nine-game road trip and decided to do something special for their trip.
The dress code for the Red Sox’s current road trip is jerseys and members of the team busted out all sorts of jerseys for their flight to Tampa Bay.
They didn’t stick to just Boston teams, though. Cincinnati, Ohio native Andrew Benintendi rocked his St. Louis Blues jersey on the road trip.
The Red Sox will play a three-game series in Tampa Bay starting on Friday, will head to Baltimore for a three-game series on Monday and then will wrap up their road trip in Cincinnati next Sunday.
The Los Angeles Angels did something similar to this last month when they rocked their favourite basketball jerseys on one of their road trips.
