Houston Texans fans thought their season was over when J.J. Watt went down with a season-ending injury early on in their Week 5 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs, but Deshaun Watson quickly gave them new hope thanks to the way he got his NFL career started.
In the rookieβs seven games with the Texans, the 22-year-old completed 61.8 percent of his passes for 1,699 yards while throwing 19 touchdowns to eight interceptions and also added 269 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns on 36 attempts.
On Thursday afternoon, the Texans and their fans suffered another massive loss as Watson tore his ACL during the teamβs practice and is expected to miss the remainder of the season.
Considering Watson has been the talk of the NFL since taking over as the Texansβ starter, players from across the league and other professional athletes reached out to the rookie to offer him their best wishes.
Weβve seen a lot of highly talented players go down this season and Watson is the latest star to join the list.
Hopefully heβs able to make a strong recovery because he was one of the most exciting players in the league before he went down.
