The first round of the 2017 Arnold Palmer Invitational officially got underway on Thursday morning.
This is the first time the tournament is being held since Palmer passed away last September, so golfers and fans are coming from all over to pay their respects to the golf legend.
Cody Gribble managed to make a name for himself early on in the tournament, as he found himself in an awkward situation on the par-5 sixth hole.
Most people would probably turn around and walk the other way if they saw an alligator just hanging out on the golf course, but apparently you’re going to need a larger and more vicious animal than that in order to spook the 26-year-old Dallas, Texas native.
When asked about the event, Gribble fired back a pretty hilarious answer.
"The gator looked like he needed some exercise," Gribble said after opening with a 77. "But he was sitting right there in the way and, you know, I guess I was trying to get some adrenaline going somehow. But I wasn't really afraid of it."
Gribble is well back of the lead, but deserves some extra credit for his brave move.
