Last night, with the Predators down 3-0 in Game 1 one fan decided that they would try to turn the tide by performing a tradition that has become popular at hockey games in Nashville: Throwing a catfish on the ice.
Shortly after throwing the fish on the ice, the fish thrower was reportedly escorted out of the building:
But that wasn’t the end of it. Reports have come out today that the fan will be charged, according to Pittsburgh TV Station KDKA. When reading what he was charged for, people on social media have been stuck on one particular line in the charge, in which it basically claims that a catfish is “an instrument of crime”.
While it is definitely an odd term, we would have to assume that catfish were considered to be banned from Pittsburgh’s arena, and therefore it would be the instrument used to break the law.
Either way, we can only imagine that people will start referring to catfish as instruments of law.
