Every great hockey player has a nickname. Phil the Thrill, Sid the Kid, Ovi, Gino, Captain Serious, the list goes on and on and on.
That being said, you can't force a nickname, it just has to come naturally. While fans have lots of nicknames for the next up and coming superstar, Connor McDavid, there hasn't been one that has exactly stuck at this point.
However, that could change now that P.K. Subban revealed his nickname for McDavid during a pre-game interview ahead of the game against the Oilers Friday night.
'McJesus' is a nickname we've heard for Connor for sometime now, but it's one that is liked by some and not liked by others for various reasons.
That being said, now that Subban has used it, it could spread throughout the hockey world like wildfire.
In his return to the lineup, Subbanator was a plus one and the Preds were able to squeak out a 3-2 shootout win on the road.
