If you’re a hardcore hockey fan, you’re probably anticipating the start of training camps, the subsequent pre-season and the eventual regular season schedule.

NHL players are really no different, and we all know and love the energy and passion P.K. Subban brings to the table – perhaps too much enthusiasm depending if you ask the Montreal Canadiens brass. Regardless, P.K. is one of the best personalities in a league which can often be deprived of exciting personas.

Subban posted on his Instagram account one of the most repulsive, yet beautiful hockey jerseys to ever grace the planet: The Nashville Predators mustard yellow third jerseys the team wore from the 2001-02 season to the end of 2006-07 with “Subban” sewn on the back of the nameplate. In the video, the 28-year-old used the jersey as a way to pump up the defending Western Conference Champions’ fan base for the upcoming campaign.

P.K. obviously wasn’t a member of the Preds during those years, as he was just finishing up his second season in the OHL with the Belleville Bulls when the jersey was retired, but he was still honoured to rock such an iconic uni ten years later.

With the Sabertooth fangs shining bright like Subban’s smile in the heart of the logo, the 2013 Norris Trophy winning defenceman received the jersey as a gift from one his buddies during a barbeque at his house ahead of the Connor McGregor and  Floyd Mayweather fight.

Earlier this offseason, the Preds unveiled a new logo to commemorate their 20th anniversary in the league, which features the popular saber-toothed tiger.

There was no “C” on that mustard jersey, but that doesn’t mean Subban doesn’t have a chance to be the next captain of the team after Mike Fisher called it a career after 17 seasons in the league. The dynamic d-man has had quite the summer, from hanging out at Wimbledon, pranking Julian Edelman at the ESPYS, having dinner with some pretty esteemed company, all while keeping in tip-top shape.

Like P.K., we can’t wait for the start of the season, either.
